Comic book horror anthology Still Infinity dares to look into the void, more than once, and show us what’s there. As you’d expect, it’s not always a pleasant sight.
Six scary tales feature here, and we move from the horrors of the flesh to the mind-bending terror of the infinite cosmos and beyond.
There’s not always a clear, obviously interpretable outcome, but the journey each story takes us on is always fascinating, and often horrific.
It’s not all dark and disturbing, though. The blackest of humour can be felt in the surreal sci-fi of A Pale Blue Dot, for example. And the psychedelic adventure we undertake in The Traveler from Takxria is as beautiful as it is existentially terrifying.
The artwork is incredibly strong throughout, with an incredibly diverse collection of styles from each story’s artist. Each one employs an aesthetic which perfectly matches writer Manoj Gedela’s subject matter.
As well as Ariel Quintero’s mind-expanding work on The Traveler from Takxria, I particularly enjoyed the non-Euclidean geometry and sense of scale from Dany Pourrain in An Expected Visitor.
Singling those two out seems a bit unfair though, because each artist brings something strong, and different, to the table.
With atmospheric scene setting to shockingly in-your-face gore by Nicolás Nieto in Eaters of Truth, the ancient, almost mystical feel of The Assassination of Maharaja Vikramarka by Ramses Sandoval, the dusty grit of The Gunslinger Who Outdrew Death (also by Ariel Quintero) and Ricardo Parabere’s retro, 60s vibes of The Pale Blue Dot, there’s something new and unique about each story, even beyond its script.
It’s a really impressive and well produced comic. If you like your short stories and anthologies to have a darker edge, and don’t mind that they may not have an easily interpreted or understandable conclusion, this will likely be up your very dark and cosmically twisted alley.
Many thanks to Manoj Gedela for sending me a copy of Still Infinity for review purposes. You can back Still Infinity on Kickstarter as of the time of writing, to get your own copy of this brilliantly unique anthology.
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
