Still playing catch up with my Ben 10 reviews, here we are with a look at the third issue.
An alien is on a rampage, tearing through military personnel at a secret base. Meanwhile, another alien seems to be on the loose, prompting Gwen Tennyson to take matters into her own hands. If course, it’s her cousin Ben, who’s struggling to control and cope with transforming into a variety of weird alien creatures, but he just might be the key to saving the soldiers who are currently under attack.
Issue 3 concludes this rebooted Ben 10’s story arc. It’s a textbook example of how to handle a reboot, making the material darker and a little more mature while still retaining the essence of the original. Of course, it helps that Ben 10’s original creative team, Man of Action, are taking on writing duties (this first arc scripted by Joe Casey) here.
It’s really good stuff, and I really like how the artwork sells the body horror of Ben’s transformations, as well as excellent creature design and thrilling action.
Though I arrived late, it’s easy to see why this run has proven popular so far, and I’m looking forward to checking out writer Steven T. Seagle’s new story, starting in issue 4.
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!
All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
