Having successfully turned the tables on the Predators nearly two dozen times, it seems that Theta’s hunts have finally caused the Yautja to have found her. Is it just Theta they’ve been monitoring, or humanity as a whole? And what if there’s more than just the Yautja on Theta’s trail?
Ed Brisson’s Predator story continues to hurtle forwards at an impressive pace; though this issue is mostly taken up by a fight scene – which feels massive, crunchy and consequential, thanks to Kev Walker’s brilliant art – it still finds time for one hell of a surprising cliffhanger.
The far future setting of this series has certainly allowed for some unusual twists and turns, as well as a unique story overall for a Predator tale.
It’s hard to believe we’re almost at the end of this first series, but I’m really struck by how much I’m looking forward to each issue. Marvel’s Alien series is one that I feel I’m reading almost as an obligation at times rather than for enjoyment; the same can’t be said for this excellent, daring Predator series so far.
